To the extent that this lowly, neglected blog has any readers left, I would like to inform them that we are officially retiring La Dolce Vespa. Yes, I still have the Vespa. No, I do not ride it as often as I envisioned. But yes, I am still happy I bought it. The problem is not the Vespa, it's the fact that the Vespa has not provided the wealth of blogging material that I originally anticipated. Most notably, I still have all my fingers and toes.
The other problem is that my evil twin, Riley Noehren, has recently started her own blog, which she swears up and down she will post to on at least a biweekly basis. (But note: She is not trustworthy! Take whatever she says with a grain of salt. Do not--I repeat, DO NOT--enter into any multilevel marketing schemes with her.) Between the two of us, there is simply not enough time or material to supply two whole blogs. Two things:
(1)Should I be concerned that Riley herself called and asked me to be a part of her Amway/Arbonne family?
(2) I am going to have to insist that Riley set "The Bug Chronicles" free to delight and inform her own readers.
You each have so much to give, but I understand the burden of trying to sustain two blogs. Certainly LDV set a high watermark for humor and entertainment and contributed in its way to the development of Riley's talents and polish.
But if you thought a couple years of periodic brilliant comedy could buy parental forgiveness of the insanity of the original purchase or that Riley's success validates the impulse buying in support of new hobby/lifestyle alternative to therapy, well . . . you're probably right.
La Dolce Vespa will be missed but I am already a huge fan of Ms. Noehren.
